The Solar Energy Certification (SEC) is aimed to become a referenced quality standard of choice for the solar energy practitioners not only in Europe, but globally, with a special focus set on lower-developed countries, which due to economic bariers have much more difficult access to internationally recognized competency attestment frameworks for their citizens.

How to support the Solar Energy Certification (SEC) framework?

In order to develop the SEC framework, the Solar Energy Certification Committee has been established and is currently hosted under the European Solar Network. It is open to all experts worldwide in the field of solar energy (or related fields, such as e.g. smart grids), who consider it as an important initiative and wish to provide their contribution to advancing this international solar energy skills attestment standard.

Another option is to send your Committee Membership application directly to the sec@eusolarnet.org email address along with a short CV attached. The participation in the SEC Committee is voluntary and does not require any participation fee.

Reduction of the access bariers to the Solar Energy Certification (SEC) framework in both economic and organizational terms (fully online access to curriculum reference didactic materials, examinations, as well as the certification and validation procedures) will help practitioners and companies from the solar energy field worldwide to increase their competitiveness on global jobs and business markets.

The Solar Energy Certification (SEC) framework aims also to further stimulate transition from traditional fossil fuels to solar energy, by increasing awareness, professionalism and trust in the solar energy.
